The Soifer Center is a multi-disciplinary child development center providing assessment, therapeutic and advocacy services for children who are struggling with language and speech, literacy and learning, social and emotional, or other academic challenges.
Additionally, The Soifer Center offers a complement of classes designed to give the necessary tools to both educators and parents so they can answer the question, "Who Is This Child"?
Evaluation is a process of collecting information about how your child thinks, remembers, understands, reasons, communicates, reads, spells, writes, calculates, and feels. Also part of the process is considering how each of these abilities or capacities influences each other and how your child learns and needs to be taught.
Remediation sometimes called therapy, is a very personal, individualized process at The Soifer Center. Each child has a program that is specifically created for him or her by a trained clinician, either a special educator, reading specialist or language and speech pathologist.
Advocacy is a form of support. Whether it is you as the parent advocating for your child’s needs or a professional who helps you advocate in circumstances where special skills are required, advocacy is crucial.
Education can be very powerful and being a lifelong learner creates endless opportunities. At The Soifer Center we have been educating children, their parents and teachers about them for more than 20 years. Beyond our work with families, we at The Soifer Center have been committed to educating the community through workshops, lectures, and courses in local, national and international forums.
